GLOBAL WOMEN MEDIATORS

Women Mediators across
the Commonwealth

The Women Mediators across the Commonwealth network was launched in July 2017, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in April 2017.

The Women Mediators across the Commonwealth (WMC) network was launched in July 2018, following the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in April  2018. The network emphasises the invaluable work that women mediators are doing across the diversity of contexts and mediation spaces, and aims to increase the visibility of their role in resolving conflict and sustainable peacebuilding.

Collectively the network advocates for the increased participation of women in peace processes both locally, regionally and internationally, by enhancing existing spaces and identifying new spaces and opportunities for engagement, focusing on the deployment of its members as mediators in ongoing peace processes around the world. Members come together through peer-to-peer learning initiatives, joint research and network development workshops.  The network is currently hosted by the peacebuilding organisation Conciliation Resources.
