The event titled “The Role of Women in Mediation and Peacebuilding Processes”, organised by the governments of Mexico and Argentina, took place on April 15, 2021. The objective of the event was to share the good practices of the governments of Argentina and Mexico to promote women’s mediation efforts. In this framework, the organisers invited two representatives from the Secretariat of the Global Alliance to present the Global Alliance and its work and explain how it facilitates the exchange of information, cooperation and joint activities among the Regional Networks.
Loredana Teodorescu, Secretariat Coordinator of the Global Alliance and Soad Shalaby, member of the Global Alliance Global Contact Group, shared experiences with women mediators from Argentina and Mexico in advancing the participation of women in peace processes. The panel also represented an opportunity for the Global Alliance to present its unique work in creating inclusive spaces for connection between Regional Women Mediator Networks.
